About

A coastal audit practice with ink still on the ledgers

Takumi Audit Bureau was founded to give Shikoku companies an independent auditor who still visits the warehouse, reads the bank confirmations, and writes an opinion letter without drama.

Origin

The bureau began when a handful of auditors who had spent years on engagements for Kochi’s manufacturers and trading houses decided the region needed a practice sized for regional companies — not a satellite of a distant national firm that rotated unfamiliar seniors through every close.

We kept a small office on 4th Street, hired people who could read both Japanese GAAP presentation and a handwritten receiving log, and built a calendar around year-end inventory seasons rather than marketing quarters.

How we work

Engagements start with a scoping conversation, not a sales deck. We ask about entities, warehouses, prior findings, and the real deadline — the bank’s, the shareholders’, or the tax office’s. Fieldwork is planned so inventory observation happens when the floor is calm enough to count, not when it is convenient for our travel schedule alone.

Values that show up in the work: independence from bookkeeping clients, plain language in management letters, and the habit of raising bad news early.

Colleagues collaborating on engagement planning documents

We measure a good engagement by whether the exit meeting leaves management clearer than when we arrived.

People you may meet on site

Partners stay involved through planning and the exit meeting. Seniors lead daily fieldwork. Staff auditors handle confirmations, tick marks, and the quiet work of matching tags to perpetual records.
